This privacy policy explains how The Dharma Academy OÜ ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you visit thedharmaacademy.com or purchase our products.

The Dharma Academy OÜ is a company registered in Estonia (Estonian e-Residency). For data protection purposes, we are the data controller.

What We Collect

When you purchase a product or subscribe to our services, we collect your name and email address (provided at checkout) and payment information (processed by Stripe, we do not store your card details).

We also collect usage data through Cloudflare Web Analytics (page views and basic analytics, cookie-free). With your consent, we additionally use PostHog, a product-analytics tool hosted in the European Union, to understand how visitors use this site. PostHog records page interactions, heatmaps, and anonymized session replays, with all form fields and typed input masked, so we never see what you enter. It runs only if you accept it in the cookie banner, and you can decline with no loss of functionality. If you arrived through a Meta advertisement, we share conversion events (such as sign-ups and purchases) with Meta for ad measurement through the Conversions API, which includes a hashed version of your email address and, where applicable, the purchase amount. For visitors outside the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we additionally use the Meta Pixel in the browser for the same ad-measurement purpose. Visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland are never tracked by Meta in the browser.

How We Use Your Data

We use your data to deliver the products you purchased (via Hello Audio), send you transactional emails related to your purchase (via MailerLite), measure advertising performance (via Meta Conversions API and, outside the EEA/UK/Switzerland, the Meta Pixel), and improve our website and products.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate our business, each with their own privacy policy: Stripe (payment processing), Hello Audio (product delivery via private podcast), MailerLite (email communication), Cloudflare (website hosting and analytics), PostHog (product analytics and session replay, EU-hosted, used only with your consent), and Meta Platforms (advertising measurement via the Conversions API and, outside the EEA/UK/Switzerland, the Meta Pixel).

Cookies

We use cookies for analytics only with your consent. On your first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline analytics. If you accept, PostHog sets cookies that let us recognize returning visits and measure how the site is used. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and nothing is recorded. For visitors outside the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, the Meta Pixel sets advertising-measurement cookies ("_fbp" and "_fbc") that help attribute visits and sign-ups to our advertisements. For visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland we do not use any advertising cookies; Meta measurement there is handled exclusively server-side through the Conversions API. Separately, we use a small number of strictly-necessary functional cookies that do not track you and do not require consent: a login cookie ("ee_session") that keeps you signed in to the Embodied Expansion course portal, a cookie that remembers your analytics choice ("da_consent"), and cookies that Stripe may set as part of processing a payment. You can change your choice at any time by clearing cookies for this site, which brings the banner back.

Your Rights Under GDPR

Because we operate under Estonian law within the European Union, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data. You can also object to processing based on legitimate interest or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to provide you with our services and fulfill legal obligations. If you request deletion, we will remove your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., tax and accounting records retained for 7 years as required by Estonian law). Session replays and product-analytics data in PostHog are retained for 30 days.

All Sales Final

All purchases are final. We do not offer refunds. This is stated in our Terms of Service.

Children

Our products are not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
